The Poco M4 Pro is now available globally, and we expect it to be one of the season’s best-selling smartphones. With a bigger and more vibrant display, an upgraded back camera system, faster charging, and stereo speakers, it’s a smart upgrade over the Poco M3 Pro 5G.
The Poco M4 Pro 5G with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs EUR 229 in Europe (approximately Rs. 19,600). The phone’s 6GB + 128GB variant costs EUR 249 in total (roughly Rs. 21,300). The Poco M3 Pro 5G is available in three color options: Cool Blue, Poco Yellow, and Power Black. There is currently no confirmation of availability in India.
Design
The huge camera area on the POCO M4 Pro 5G gives it a distinct personality that extends far beyond the camera bump itself in terms of design. At a time when major smartphone companies are trying to reduce the appearance of their names on their smartphones, cameras occupy up a third of the back of the handset, leaving the rest for similarly huge branding.
The fingerprint sensor is not located on the back of the phone, nor is it located beneath the screen. The biometric scanner, on the other hand, is situated on the side of the power button. The phone’s face is less eye-catching and gorgeous. A punch-hole cutout in the center of the phone’s forehead holds a selfie camera.
Display
The phone’s 6.6-inch 2400 x 1080 screen has a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz, and the software may dynamically shift between the two rates to preserve battery life. The colors are still outstanding, despite the fact that the 450 nits of brightness aren’t very practical in bright sunshine.
Camera
Despite the fact that it seems to have five cameras on its back, it only has two, with the other slot used by a large LED flash. The primary camera has a 50MP sensor. It sports an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 119-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. To put it plainly, the POCO M4 Pro 5G’s zooming capabilities are horrible due to the lack of a telephoto camera. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel camera on the front.
Performance
The gadget is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810, the company’s higher-end mid-range 5G chipset, and 6GB of RAM. It’s hardly a powerhouse, even within MediaTek’s Dimensity family, and you can feel it churning while playing resource-intensive games. If you utilize a lot of data, the 128GB of internal storage and 5G dual SIM capability will come in handy. Despite the fact that POCO is now a stand-alone brand, its Xiaomi roots may still be seen, notably in its software. The POCO M4 Pro 5G runs Xiaomi’s MIUI Android operating system, version 12.
Battery
The POCO M4 Pro 5G also supports 33W quick charging, which the firm says can fully charge the phone’s 5,000 mAh battery in under an hour. In addition, unlike the current trend in higher-priced smartphones, POCO comes with a 33W charger.
